The FTC hasnow ruled that SK Telecom's merger of its mobile business withHanaro's internet business could lead to a monopoly and requiresboth parties to continue offering unbundled services for the nextfive years and also ordered SK Telecom to share its 800 MHzfrequency. SK Telecom currently is the only operator using the800MHz frequency but its monopoly rights to it expire in 2011. Theanti-trust watchdog will also ask the communications ministry tolease out the remaining frequency bands before 2011, the ChosunIlbo writes. Rivals KTF and LG were disappointed with the decisionsaying the conditions are not enough to prevent market control bySK Telecom. SKT, in turn, has said the condition to share the800MHz frequency is unacceptable, saying its use of the frequencyhas little to do with the takeover of Hanarotelecom. FTC认为，SK电信的移动业务蛹蔭naro互联网业务的合并可能会导致垄断，因此FTC要求SK电信蛹蔭narotelecom在今后五年内继续提供非捆绑式服务，另颓C还命令SK电信公司分享其800MHz的频谱 。
SK电信目前是韩国800MHz频谱的唯一经营者，但其垄断权将在2011年届满 。朝鲜日报报道，反托拉斯监察机构也将要求该通讯部在2011年之前向外出租其余频段 。
但竞争对手KTF公司和LG公司对此决策失望的表示，这些条件限制并不足以阻炙馣电信对韩国电信市场的控制 。
SK电信却表示，收购Hanarotelecom与800MHz频谱的使用并不相关，因此不会答应分享800MHz频谱的条件 。
此外，通讯部亦表示，只有通讯部才有权利决定频谱的相关事宜 。
